WikiNebea:About
From WikiNebea
When I set up my first website in 1996, I had grand visions of a huge interconnected collection of ideas, a true "hypertext", a brain dump of sorts. However, this was in the days when building a website was done with Notepad and a dial-up modem at 2.4 kb/s (except they were called "2400" back then). So while I did manage a decent site for the time, it was too much maintenance to do what I intended.
Flash forward 10 years - the Wiki architecture is designed to manage just the sort of "knowledge base" I had envisioned, with an easy-to-use front-end and concise markup language. I've disabled the collaborative functions that allow others to edit the site, and am just using it for content management.
While that's no guarantee that I will actually create large amounts of content, it's easy enough to do so now that I just might.
