Vicar is my DVR / Home Theater system. It records from cable TV to a local drive, and plays back archived TV shows, movies, and shorts from Hogwarts, and music and music videos from Dragon. It has a DVD player card with a remote control and support for any MPEG or DivX data. It outputs S-video and sound to the TV and stereo system.

  • "He said his name was Abbut."
  • "Funny little guy with a big hat, drinks Jovian Sunspots? He's a Vicar."
  • "It's a slang term from old Earth tech, a VCR. They're cyber-organics, living recorders, part machine, part sentient."
  • "They can record just about anything: sights, sounds, biorhythms, thought patterns."
